Anyone who truly knows me knows that my absolute most favorite place to shop, besides dollar tree of course, is #Savers! From the West Roxbury location to the location in Providence, Rhode Island and everything in between, I've been to them all. Shoes, clothes, home decor, accessories and on a rare occasion even a gently used piece of furniture; #Savers has what you're looking for. But most importantly it's CHEAP! Send me to #Savers with $100 and one of the many coupons that they often provide via email and watch me fill my entire cart in under an hour. Guaranteed.
Of course all great things have their faults and for #Savers it's the fact that there is no dressing rooms and no return policy, only exchange. For some that would pose as a problem but for me that just means whenever I get home and try my items on, those that don't fit just give me an opportunity for a follow up trip where I can use credit to get more items and not cash. What a life!
There have been times when a quick trip to #Savers has literally saved me from not attending a last minute (or well known but unprepared for) event. Don't believe me? Let me show you!
1. Nude Theme
Don't you just love color themed events? No sarcasm here either because I actually do. But this one time (or many times) I was totally unprepared. My husband and I were invited to a baby shower and the invitation asked that all guests where shades of nude. We received the invite months before but guess who was out the weekend of looking for something nude or tan to wear... Here's how that went.
Long Sleeve Nude Bodysuit: Savers $6.99
Faux Leather Black Skirt: TJMaxx $14.99
Suede Ankle boots: Savers $11.99
Small Black Shoulder Bag: Saver $5.99
Black Sheer Tights: Walmart $4.99
Total Spent: $45!!!
2. Dressy but not TOO Dressy
I've never been good with "in between" outfits. You know, the ones where you want to be dressy but not fancy. That was me trying to figure out what to wear to a birthday dinner in the Boston Seaport. I was told that the restaurant was fine dining but not so fancy that I needed to wear a dress or a skirt but definitely don't wear jeans. After destroying my closet to no avail I headed to #Savers and came up with this.
Sheer Half Top: Savers $4.99
Flannel Overalls: Savers $11.99
Suede Open Toe Heels: Savers $7.99
Black Bra: Walmart $8.99
Total Spent: $34!!!
3. Cute but Casual
One of my favorite looks to go to when i want to be casual but still keep it cute is denim. I feel like you just can't go wrong when you add a denim shirt to any bottom. Especially when you find the top and the bottom for less than you paid for your shoes! Here's what I spent on this cute little birthday brunch outfit.
Denim Button up: Savers $6.99
Cut Up Jeans: Savers $9.99
Denim Pump: DSW $34.99
Total Spent: $52!!!
4. Go Green!
One thing about me, I'm gon' get cute for a Foxwoods Casino #DateNight and this night was no different. You couldn't tell me I wasn't killing this entire outfit, regardless of how much pain my feet were in at the end of the night. I received so many compliments on this entire look. Thanks #Savers !
Sheer Oversized Blouse: Savers $6.99
Faux Leather Leggings: Savers $11.99
Stiletto Pumps: Mad Rag $14.99
Green Headband Wig: Amazon: 19.99
Total Spent: $54!!!
5. Summertime Fine
Roof top #DateNights on a warm summer evening are such a vibe! Although most would consider this an experience when you can dress pretty comfortably, I like too look FINE when my husband and I go on one of our #DateNights. This night in particular it was still pretty warm even though the sun was on its way down. This outfit was perfect for the occasion!
Spaghetti Strap Bodysuit: Savers $4.99
Jersey Skirt w/ Split: Savers $6.99
Suede Open Toe Heels: Savers $7.99
PINK Fanny Pack: Poshmark $12
Total Spent: $32!!!
6. Fridays
Fridays in my office are casual day but I prefer to spice my looks up. I always wears a pair of jeans, a cute top and usually a pair of heels. If you haven't already noticed, I'm almost always in a pair of heels. This outfit was one of my favs for #CasualFridays and guess what...the WHOLE outfit came from #Savers!!!
Silk Button Up: Savers $7.99
Jeans: Savers $9.99
Red Pumps: Savers $8.99
Total Spent: $27!!!
So, as you can see here, it doesn't take much funds to spice up your closet with some cute, gently worn (and sometimes even brand new) pieces. In fact, every single one of these looks is under $60 and that's with the shoes included. In most stores you couldn't even get half of an outfit for that much. I always tell my daughter, who is now a #Savers fanatic as well, that it's not about where you get the clothes or what the label says, its about how you style it and your confidence level when you do so. I am a proud member of the #Savers community and you can say what you want about thrift shopping but baybeeeee I make it look damn good!
